Lumbar Spondylosis

Lumbar Spondylosis refers to degenerative changes that occur in the lumbar spine (lower back) due to aging, repetitive stress, poor posture, sedentary lifestyle, or previous injuries. Over time, the intervertebral discs lose hydration and elasticity, leading to disc degeneration, reduced disc height, and increased stress on the spinal joints and surrounding structures.

As the degeneration progresses, bone spurs (osteophytes) may develop, and the facet joints may become arthritic. These changes can cause pain, stiffness, limited mobility, and in some cases compress nearby nerves, leading to symptoms such as sciatica, numbness, tingling, or weakness in the lower limbs.

Although Lumbar Spondylosis is commonly associated with aging, it can also affect younger individuals due to poor posture, prolonged sitting, heavy lifting, obesity, repetitive movements, or spinal injuries. The severity of symptoms varies widely; some individuals may have minimal discomfort, while others experience chronic pain and functional limitations.

At Magnum Physiotherapy, our approach focuses on identifying the root cause of symptoms and providing personalized, evidence-based treatment to relieve pain, improve spinal mobility, strengthen supporting muscles, and prevent further degeneration. By combining advanced physiotherapy techniques with state-of-the-art technologies, we help patients regain function and return to their daily activities with confidence.
